Al Hussein Technical University and the British Council Launch Strategic Collaboration to Deliver English Language Training at HTU

Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives, and the British Council have signed an agreement to establish a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to high-quality English language learning in Jordan through the launch of a new British Council teaching branch on the HTU campus. The collaboration was officially launched during a ceremony held in the presence of His Majesty’s Ambassador to Jordan, Mr. Philip Hall OBE, marking an important milestone in the partnership between the two institutions and expanding access to high-quality English language learning opportunities in Jordan. Under the agreement, the British Council will deliver English language courses for adults at HTU, offering learners access to internationally recognised training that supports the development of communication skills essential for higher education, professional growth, employability, and engagement in an increasingly globalised workplace. The partnership reflects HTU’s commitment to building an integrated learning environment that extends beyond its academic programmes. Through this collaboration, students, graduates, professionals, and members of the wider community will have the opportunity to strengthen their English language proficiency within a dynamic university setting that promotes lifelong learning, innovation, and career readiness. Speaking at the launch, Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, President of Al Hussein Technical University, said that the collaboration represents a meaningful addition to the university’s wider learning ecosystem. “English language proficiency is no longer an added advantage; it is a key enabler for education, employment, and international engagement,” Prof. Al-Hinti said. “Hosting the British Council at HTU reflects our commitment to creating accessible, high-quality learning opportunities that equip individuals with the skills needed to navigate a rapidly evolving labour market and contribute confidently in global professional environments.” Commenting on the partnership, Alex Lambert, British Council Jordan Director, highlighted the importance of expanding access to high-quality English language education. Through this partnership, the British Council brings its globally recognised expertise in English language teaching to HTU and the wider community,” he said. “Together, we are creating a learning environment that develops the communication skills needed to unlock academic and career opportunities and engage confidently in an increasingly interconnected world. The agreement reflects the shared commitment of HTU and the British Council to investing in people through education and skills development.
