Al Hussein Technical University, the Senate, and JODDB Sign Cooperation Memorandum in Future Technology

Under the patronage of Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), one of the Crown Prince Foundation’s initiatives, signed a cooperation memorandum with the Jordanian Senate and the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) in the field of future technology, aimed at establishing an institutional framework for cooperation in developing an AI-supported legislative platform.The memorandum was signed by Senate Secretary-General Abdulrahim Maher Al-Waked, JODDB Director General Major General (Ret.) Eng. Ayman Al-Batran, and HTU President Prof. Ismael Al-Hinti, in the presence of Senator Suhair Al-Ali, Chair of the Senate’s Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Committee.The cooperation aims to support the development of a legislative platform powered by artificial intelligence, contributing to accelerating legislative workflows, strengthening governance and transparency, and enabling smart, structured access to legislative content.The memorandum comes as part of national efforts to employ artificial intelligence and digital transformation tools in advancing institutional performance and developing modern solutions that support parliamentary and legislative work. It also aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to harness technology in support of modernization pathways, and with the vision of the National Council for Future Technology.Al-Fayez emphasized that the memorandum represents an advanced step in modernizing parliamentary work tools by building a sustainable institutional ecosystem for innovation and development, supported by integrated technological infrastructure and qualified human capabilities. He also highlighted the importance of building effective partnerships among national institutions and leveraging Jordanian expertise in technology and artificial intelligence.Senator Al-Ali noted that the importance of the memorandum goes beyond its technical dimension, as it lays the foundation for a new phase in utilizing artificial intelligence as an enabling tool for legislative work. She explained that the AI-supported legislative platform will facilitate access to information and legislation, support analysis, and allow accumulated institutional knowledge to be used with greater speed and efficiency, enhancing the quality of legislative and oversight work.Al-Waked said that, through this memorandum, the Senate Secretariat seeks to build an integrated system that includes developing the infrastructure required to operate the AI-supported legislative platform, alongside strengthening the skills of Senate staff. He added that the ambition extends beyond operating the platform to building sustainable institutional capabilities that keep pace with the rapid digital transformation witnessed by parliaments around the world.For his part, Al-Batran said that JODDB will place its technical and engineering expertise at the service of the memorandum’s objectives, including cooperation in assessing and developing the technical components of the platform and keeping pace with developments in this field. He noted that the project represents an important national experience in employing advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to support parliamentary work.Prof. Al-Hinti emphasized that the partnership reflects the importance of integrating technology with human capacity building in the development of national institutions. He noted that investing in advanced technologies must go hand in hand with investing in the people capable of understanding, managing, and applying them effectively.He added that HTU is proud to be part of a national cooperation of this level, aimed at employing artificial intelligence in support of legislative and institutional work. Through its academic and applied expertise, the university will contribute to building capacities and developing the technical knowledge needed to engage with future technologies. He also noted that the adoption of this approach by a longstanding national institution such as the Senate reflects an advanced institutional vision that places people and technology at the heart of development.The memorandum underscores the importance of building effective national partnerships that bring together legislative, technical, and academic institutions. It also supports the development of practical AI-based solutions, enhances the readiness of national institutions for future requirements, and reinforces the role of Jordanian talent in supporting the Kingdom’s modernization and digital transformation efforts.
