The Computer Science program at HTU ultimately aspires to prepare professional, critical thinkers and highly qualified students who are ready to meet the demands of the ICT industrial sectors locally, regionally and globally. The Computer science program involves the understanding and design of computers and computational processes. It is devoted to the study of the theory, experimentation, and engineering that form the basis for the design and use of computers. HTU intends that students gain knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, database systems, software engineering, computer networks and numerical analysis. Partnership with various industrial enterprises offers the student more hands-on practice of the taught materials using HTU high tech labs.

The program focuses on an in-depth understanding of the computer, its design, operating systems, calculations, mathematical theories, and algorithms related to it, with great interest in application development, databases, software engineering, and computer networks. Where the Department of Computer Science seeks to supply the local, regional, and global labor market with professional graduates with distinguished competencies from both the theoretical and applied aspects and keeping pace with the rapid technological development.
