Deanship of Students Affairs

The Deanship of Student Affairs was established in 2017, to contribute to the University’s mission, philosophy, and objectives by implementing student-centered activities and services. The Deanship of Students Affairs aims to support students throughout their educational journey, by maintaining a safe learning environment, fostering students’ skills, and encouraging them to become contributing and active members in the community and enable each to acquire the competencies required by the labor market.

Our services extend to carrying out and supervising co-curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities intended to increase students’ cultural and social awareness during each academic level, in addition to allocating a number of on campus job opportunities geared toward developing their skills and experiences, to reach their potential.
To enrich students’ learning and campus experience, the Deanship of Student Affairs offers guidance, and academic counseling in collaboration with HTU’s different Schools and departments by integrating academic and social aspects, and raising student’s awareness regarding their rights and responsibilities, to ensure the best learning outcomes and meet each student’s academic needs.

To maintain lifelong engagement and interaction between HTU and its graduates the Deanship of Student Affairs offers a range of services aimed at providing continued professional development and advice.

DSA Mission:

Support and guide students and integrate academic and social aspects.

Contribute to HTU’s vision and mission, by implementing student-centered activities and services.

Tasks and goals of the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA):

  • Create a healthy learning environment and campus life to help students develop their personalities and skills.
  • Provide support to students throughout their academic journey and help them overcome any challenges.
  • Guiding the students and instructing them educationally, psychologically and socially.
  • Guide students academically, and provide social and psychological counselling.
  • Develop a culture of debate and respect, and create a culture of leadership.

  • Increase students’ awareness on the importance of volunteer work and community service.

Student Services Department

The office provides students with services to support and enhance their academic journey. These services consist of:

Coordinate issuing University Smart Card and health insurance cards between students and service providers.
Responsible for students’ health insurance plan and any related issues.
Administer student scholarships, grants and funds; Student Aid.
Supervise on-campus student employment program.
Respond to students inquires and all related issues.

Student Clubs and Organizations

The role of HTU clubs and organizations is to run a range of extra-curricular activities.

Supervise, organize, and coordinate student clubs’ activities.
Supervise HTU Ushers and choir.
Coach HTU sports teams.
Lead HTU Scouts.
Organize events.

Student Initiative and Project

The role of this division is to assist students in implementing and executing different initiatives and projects, provide different opportunities for HTU students to establish partnerships with local and international institutions, and raise awareness toward community service and volunteering to develop students’ leadership skills.

HTU Initiatives:

HTU Aeronautics Squad.
HTU Tech Team.

Alumni Office

Introduction:

The Alumni Office at HTU was established to maintain lifelong engagement and interaction between HTU and its graduates through a dedicated platform, and by offering a range of services aimed at providing continued professional development and advice.

Objectives:

Follow up on graduates’ professional development.
Follow up on graduates’ job performance and prepare related reports; develop curricula effectively to meet the labor market needs.
Develop graduates’ skills by offering specialized trainings courses and workshops.
Promote graduate engagement.
Planning graduate events.
Share success stories.

Approach:

Maintain graduates’ links with the Office of Industrial Links, the Center for Professional Development and Outreach, and the Admission and Registration department.
Create a webpage (virtual hub) for HTU graduates.
Develop a platform (database) aimed at identifying graduates’ job status and performance, and share related reports.
Offer continuous learning opportunities for HTU graduates in collaboration with the Center for Professional Development and Outreach.
Receive feedback from graduates and the labor market regarding HTU programs and curricula.
Offer graduates advise on postgraduate studies.
Maintain engagement with HTU graduates.
Organize reunions and other alumni events.
Establish a relationship between HTU alumni and undergraduates; HTU community.

Student Counseling

Offer proper academic counseling, and advise to student pursuing their academic degree.
Follow- up on students behavioral and academic issues with the Dean of Student Affairs, and coordinate with the concerned committees regarding violations and penalties.
Work closely with talented students.
Plan and organize Student Awards ceremony.
