School of Construction Technology & Built Environment 

The School of Construction Technology & Built Environment at Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU) in Amman invites applications for multiple faculty positions in architectural and civil engineering starting Fall Semester 2019/2020 at the rank of Assistant Professor and/or Associate Professor. 

Successful candidates should have teaching experience in internationally-accredited English- speaking universities, profound professional experience in the construction industry, with solid publication record, and must have established or exhibit the potential to establish a strong, externally sponsored research program. 

He/she will play a key role in supporting the School in achieving its mission and vision for its undergraduate programs.He/she isexpected to teach a typical load of three tofour unitsper semester, in addition to participating in curriculum development, quality assurance and accreditation, community and industrial outreach, and research.

 

Position Descriptions:

Architectural Engineering: Assistant Professor

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in architectural engineering and possess a strong expertise in the following: creative thinking, painting, freehand sketching, visual communication techniques (manual and digital), and a model making. Candidates with international professional certification in these fields have priority and are mote favorite for the position. 

 

 

Architectural Engineering: Assistant / Associate Professor

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in architectural engineering from a top ranked English-speaking institution of higher education, and possess a strong expertise in one or more areas: construction technology and building systems, construction management and construction law, BIM, HVAC, architectural acoustics and lighting systems, and related subjects in smart and green building engineering. Candidates with international professional certification in these fields have priority and are more favorite for the position. 

 

Civil Engineering: Assistant / Associate Professor
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in civil engineering from a top ranked English-speaking institution of higher education, and possess a strong expertise in one or more areas: structures & mechanics, transportation engineering, construction management. Candidates with ability to teach in multiple areas of civil engineering and across engineering majors are especially encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate for this position needs to have a bachelor degree in energy engineering or any related field. Industrial experience is required for the lab engineer position.

The preferred qualifications are: Teaching experience in internationally-accredited English-speaking institutes and industrial experience in fields related to energy engineering (required for the lab engineer position).
